What is the weather like?
Axarquia has the sunniest climate in Europe. In all but the hot midsummer months, conditions are generally very good for a sight-seeing holiday, but in summer it is too hot to ddo much more than laze on a beach or swim in a pool. However, out of season it can get cold at night and can even rain!
Will we be able to eat out?
Competa has lots of excellent bars and restaurants within easy walking distance of the self catering accommodation. It also has some good shops. Canillas de Albaida is much smaller but has a good selection of restauants, though you could always eat at the hotel. Casa de la Mina really is off the beaten track, which is why we recommend full board.
Will we have to speak Spanish?
Not unless you want to! Steve and Sheila aim to organise everything for you and so will speak on your behalf if necessary.
